For the first time in the history of Belgrade gastronomy…
…we had the privilege to make a dinner accompanied by the wines from one of the best chateaus from Bordeaux – „Château Palmer“.
Apart from the privilege of bringing “Château Palmer” to Belgrade (after Cannes, New York, Paris, Hong Kong etc.), we can also boast of the fact that we are the only ones in the world with the honour of pairing wines with the local cuisine (which is not French) and of being able to show the world that Serbian cuisine has everything it needs – except for just a little more marketing.
The idea „Back to Future“ , initiated by Vanja Puškar (the Chef) and Nemanja Papić (the sommelier), is aimed at promoting the local cuisine and autochthonous features and it has been recognized by Palmer as something authentic. That is why Vanja and Nemanja had the task of realizing the idea of pairing the local cuisine with world-renowned wines.
The vintages served at dinner were selected on the basis of grades given by the best-known world grader Robert Parker, who ranked them as the same or even better than celebrated “Château Margaux”. Apart from carefully chosen vintages we also had the opportunity to taste wines which cannot be bought by money but serve to represent the prestige of the winery.
This dinner in Prime Restaurant in Crowne Plaza Hotel was served to a limited number of people.
Vanja, Nemanja and Prime Restaurant have brought Belgrade back to the gastronomic map of the world.
